Ingol and Tanterton Jan 2026 Monthly Update |
||||
|
Good afternoon,
We hope you have all had a lovely start to the New Year. We have been as busy as always heading into the new year. Here is some of the bits of interest for the last month.
Very unusual for our area we had numerous reports of burglary offences over the last month. We received a report of a shed broken into on WORTHING ROAD during the night mid Jan where various items were stolen including an expensive Evil Insurgent mountain bike in silver. We had reports of unknown person attempting the front door of a residential property on Whitby Avenue during the night. We have also had a burglary where intruders have entered unoccupied new-built properties on MORAY CLOSE stealing copper and utilities. I appreciate all the circumstances are different and is doesn’t form a specific Modus Operandi however it does come as a timely reminder to ensure that our properties are secure and safe. Below is a link to some home security advice to physically secure properties to deter criminal activity and reduce crime. Secured by Design - Home Security
We have also continued in our efforts to tackle drugs related offences. Following some proactive policing whilst dealing with separate matters, a male was found to be in possession of cannabis on CRESWELL AVENUE and was subsequently charged. The local neighbourhood policing is further progressing this with follow-up action with our housing partners. Intelligence and information you pass is vital to us in stopping drugs use and drugs dealing on our streets.
We have been made aware of another pop-up den around the old Golf Course off Higher Greenfield, Lower Greenfield. Recent homeless encampments (on the Canal Path up by Tom Benson) and another on Mayfield Avenue have recently been dismantled – enquiries are ongoing with this newly discovered one and further work with council etc will be taken. If there are any issues regarding anything related to this, please let the local neighbourhood team know.
We have also continued in our efforts to tackle off road bikes in the area and across Preston. Local Operations are still underway utilising the neighbourhood officers and traffic patrols, and numerous e-scooters and electric bikes have been seized in our area and wider area. These seizures include e-bikes and electric scooters that were either illegally modified or being used unlawfully on public roads. I know many of these bikes will have been bought as exciting Christmas presents – but buying the wrong type of vehicle or failing to follow the law – will glad to disappointment, financial loss and even criminal consequences when they are stopped and seized. These Operations will continue well into 2026.
Attached is some info re the law on electric bikes and e-scooters.
We have also continued working with partners and conducted numerous visits. These include our local children’s homes and businesses, and residential addresses with Community Gateway, Places for People, Jigsaw and Progress Homes where issues have been identified. We have been advertising out our engagements on the new Single Online Home website for the ward area Ingol and Cottam. The link attached takes you to that page and upcoming engagements Ingol and Cottam | Police.uk
We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming PACT meeting (Partners and Community Meeting) which takes place at Tanterton Village Centre, 6.30pm on Wednesday 4th Feb 2026. Take care, PC Jenny, PCSO Jules, PCSO Joe | ||||
